Appointments round up

November 9 - CSX, has promoted Michael Rutherford to vice president, industrial products, to lead all sales and marketing activities for the US railroad company's recently-expanded industrial products portfolio, which includes housing and construction mat

Prior to joining CSX as director of strategic planning in 2008, Rutherford served at major consumer products companies, Adidas and Johnson & Johnson.

Meanwhile, Peter Güttinger is the new country manager of Gebrüder Weiss Air & Sea Switzerland, with overall responsibility for the company's air and sea freight business in the country.

Based at Zurich Airport and reporting directly to Michael Büchele, Gebrüder Weiss air & sea regional manager Europe, the 46-year old was most recently responsible for freight management for Europe, Africa and the Near East for the American chemicals group, Sigma-Aldrich.

Elsewhere, Terex Cranes has welcomed back Ingo Nöske as director product management for crawler cranes and Ascan Klein as the new director of competency centre technology platforms for Terex Cranes. 

Nöske, who left Terex Cranes in 2008, will lead the global product management teams for the Demag and Terex crawler crane lines, as well as manage the development and execution of product line strategies.

In his newly established position, Klein will drive common approaches for crane equipment software, electronics, hydraulics and load management, where commonality in technology throughout the product lines should benefit the company's customers globally.

Klein is also rejoining Terex Cranes, where he held multiple leadership positions in engineering until 2011.

Meanwhile, London Offshore Consultants (LOC) has named Mark Board as marine consultant, and Dan Niklas Ahlgren as naval architect. Board is a trained auditor and root cause analysis investigator. Prior to joining LOC, Ahlgren was a consultant to DNV GL (Noble Denton) and has many years of experience as a naval architect, project manager/engineer, consultant and marine warranty surveyor.
