Bergeron up at New Orleans

December 29 - The board of commissioners at the Port of New Orleans has elected William T. Bergeron to succeed Scott H. Cooper as chairman.

Bergeron, who is managing director of management, investment and consulting company Bergeron Resources, joined the board in 2012.

Cooper will continue to serve on the board as a commissioner. In addition, Michael W. Kearney was elected vice chairman of the board; while Robert R. Barkerding becomes secretary-treasurer.

Other board members include Greg Rusovich, Laney J. Chouest and Arnold B. Baker.

The port of Albany in the USA has been awarded a USD9.9 million grant from the NYS Department of Transportation (DoT) passenger and freight rail assistance programme (PFRAP) to upgrade its heavy lift infrastructure.
