Boskalis renames Dockwise Vanguard

Royal Boskalis Westminster has renamed its semi-submersible heavy lift vessel, Dockwise Vanguard, as the company begins the process of rebranding of all of its business units under the Boskalis name.

The renaming and subsequent rebranding of the vessel, now known as Boka Vanguard, marks the start of the process to present the company's integrated service portfolio under the singe brand name, Boskalis.

As HLPFI reported here, this means the end of the line for the Dockwise brand - the largest operator in the semi-submersible shipping market - which Boskalis acquired in 2013.

The renamed semi-submersible vessel is currently preparing to load a 90,000-ton (81,646.6-tonne) floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) platform, which Boskalis claims will be the heaviest cargo ever to be transported by a semi-submersible heavy lift vessel.
