February 19 - Cargolux has appointed Janet Jiang as its new regional manager, China.

Jiang joined Cargolux in 2000 as sales and reservations officer in Shanghai, before advancing to sales manager in 2004. In 2008, she was appointed district manager, Shanghai and six years later took on the role of regional manager, central and eastern China.

In her new role, Jiang will be responsible for Cargolux's stations in Beijing and Xiamen, as well as all new developments for the airline in China - a market that the company has pinpointed as one of its main areas for growth and expansion.

HLPFI reported in January that the airline's board of directors had approved an investment of USD77 million for Cargolux China - a new joint venture Chinese cargo airline based in Zhengzhou.
