Century for Project Cargo Network

September 26 - The Project Cargo Network (PCN) has reached a major milestone in its development with 100 companies now on its membership roster.

The milestone was passed with the appointment of Central Oceans Hong Kong Limited as the network's first member in Hong Kong.

The Central Oceans Group already holds PCN membership in Singapore and arrives with a well-known pedigree and already excellent reputation within PCN.

"We are delighted to be celebrating this milestone with our members who we credit as having understood our vision. Their foresight will earn them valuable new partnerships and business over the coming years." promised Rachel Humphrey, CEO of PCN.

Network manager, Martin Pain added: "Given the strict entry procedures and required capabilities for PCN members, the growth has been phenomenal, the network's coverage now encompasses most of the world's major trade lanes, proof that quality and quantity is indeed possible. Continued growth and the maintenance of our high membership standard is guaranteed with further applications being processed on a daily basis."

PCN Members' shipments include generators, turbines, reactors, boilers, towers, castings, heaters, presses, locomotives, boats, satellites, military personnel and equipment. In the offshore industry parts of oil rigs and production platforms are also moved; some of these are also disassembled at the end of an installation's working life.

PCN Network says that because member offices are managed by privately-owned companies, they can focus 100 percent on providing a personal service that is tailored to client's needs. It adds that members can accommodate specific requests and make immediate decisions and recommendations on each individual project or shipment whilst belonging to a worldwide alliance of specialist partners.

Martin Pain adds "Having previously worked at management level for a UK based freight forwarder which held network membership, I understand what a network can do for a strong, customer focused, freight forwarder. The industry is about who your contacts are and where they are, within PCN we have some true market leading companies in the project sector. I believe that it has already become a special network in little over a year since our beginning and will only get stronger as we continue to grow."

The 1st PCN Annual Summit will be held in London from 19-20 November 2011 and includes key speakers, Christopher Snelling, head of supply chain policy at the Freight Transport Association and Susan Oatway, senior consultant of Bulk Shipping at Drewry Shipping Consultants. The weekend gathering will also take advantage of the representatives being able to meet together in one place, at the same time with numerous pre-arranged 1-2-1 business meetings. AS an official media partner of the PCN, HLPFI will also be present at the summit.

CEO, Humphrey adds: "Whilst today's technology makes it easier for us to keep in touch; meeting face to face is the key to developing good business. We already have 82 senior managers/CEO's from 42 countries booked to attend. The fact that so many delegates are travelling from long distances to be there, reminds us just how important it is to meet in person."
