DSV posts record first-half result

August 14 - Multimodal global logistics services provider DSV has continued the positive trend seen in the first quarter of this year by posting the best-ever half-year result in the history of the group for the first six months of 2012.

The company said the operating profit before special items of DKK1.24 billion (USD206.3 million) for the first six months of the year corresponded to EBITA growth of approximately 5 percent for theperiod.

While the Denmark-headquartered company emphasised that its long-term target is to grow faster than the market, the DSV Air and Sea business enjoyed a 3 percent growth in profit after taxes in the first half of the year, as airfreight volumes developed in line with the market and sea freight volumes improved.

For seafreight, the short-term target is to catch up with market growth, a DSV statement added.
