Kalitta launches service to Amsterdam

February 27 - Effective March 9, Kalitta Air LLC is launching a twice weekly B747-400F scheduled service routing New York - Amsterdam - New York in cooperation with Inter Aviation Services (IAS) and HAE Group.

The flights are scheduled to depart JFK on Thursdays and Sundays at 01:00 local time and arrive in Amsterdam at 14:15 local time, with return flights departing Amsterdam on Fridays at 09:15 local time and Sunday at 17:00 local time.

The flights' primary focus will be on heavy and outsize cargo suitable for the main deck, such as oil and gas equipment, aircraft engines, project cargo, and automotive components, alongside other similar types of freight.

HAE and IAS said that the companies' market research had shown a strong demand for scheduled main-deck B747 freighter services linking the commercial hubs of New York and Amsterdam both eastbound and westbound.

Eastbound sales, marketing and reservations will be handled by HAE Group through its network of offices across the USA, while westbound freight sales will be handled by IAS in Benelux and its existing network of general sales agents across Europe.

Earlier this month Heavyweight Air Express announced that it was rebranding the company as HAE in an attempt to enhance the brand, whilst remaining dedicated to its core competencies.
