Korea Express obtains AEO accreditation

The company was AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) accredited by the Korea Customs Service.

With AEO accreditation in place, Korea Express says it expects various benefits including reduced costs and time savings. It says that there will be a simplification of documentation, reduction of inspection rates and reduction in clearance times for international clearance inwards; with the same benefits for exports to countries where bilateral agreements for AEO authentication is in place such as USA and Canada.

A company official said that AEO authentication, as a worldwide authentication system for import and export safety, is a important demonstration of the way in which Korea Express is recognised internationally as credible and safe for international logistics services.

The company ordered its two new ships in June last year and says that they will be 152.5 m in length and 40 m in width, and will exclusively transport heavy freight such as machinery and equipment used for plant, shipbuilding and construction.
