Lammers returns to Rotterdam

August 24 - Sohar Port and Freezone has appointed Marc Vertsee to replace current executive commercial manager, Edwin Lammers, who is returning to the Port of Rotterdam as the new director of breakbulk.

Evertse most recently served as senior project manager at the Port of Rotterdam. He also held the position of business development manager for Sohar Port and Freezone in 2003, and was involved in the early planning stages of the Omani port.

In his new position at the Port of Rotterdam, Lammers will be replacing current director of breakbulk, Joyce Bliek, who will remain at the port but focus on container operations.

Prior to taking on the role of Sohar executive commercial manager in 2009, Lammers served as general manager of Rotterdam's Waalhaven Terminal.

Sohar Port and Freezone is managed by Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC) - a joint venture between the Port of Rotterdam and the Sultanate of Oman.
