July 16 - Third party logistics provider Logwin has expanded its network in India by opening a new office in Kolkata and expanding its facilities in Chennai.

The new Kolkata branch, located in the east of the country close to the border with Bangladesh, will coordinate international and sea freight transportation for its customers. It is situated close to the Port of Kolkata and a new international airport located 160 km away in the city of Dagapur will open by the end of 2013.

We expect the new airport to provide an even greater boost to the region's already growing economy," says Vijay Nair, country director at Logwin in India.

At its Chennai branch in the south of India, Logwin has relocated to larger premises and has opened a transit warehouse for its customer's products in the city.

"The city's economic performance is likely to almost treble in the next ten years," says Dharmarajan Ng, branch manager at Logwin in Chennai. "Our new location enables us to provide the best possible assistance to our customers with their growth."
