M&M appoints Lunde

February 5 - Maritime and Merchant AS (M&M), which is to be renamed Maritime & Merchant Bank ASA, has appointed Dagfinn Lunde to its board of directors.

HLPFI reported on February 3, 2014 that M&M had been granted a banking licence to establish a global bank dedicated solely to the shipping and offshore industries.

Lunde brings over 30 years of experience in leadership roles within shipping, banking and consulting companies to the board, and will join Endre Ording Sound, Henning Oldendorff, Arne Blystad, Klaus Kjærulff, Alex Nergaard and Pål Utvik to bring the number of M&M directors to seven.

Halvor Sveen, managing director of M&M, commented on the appointment of Lunde to the board: "M&M will benefit greatly from his significant experience in the shipping and financial services industry, as we explore new opportunities and develop our banking portfolio to advance M&M's growth in the months ahead."
