Maxim acquires Essex Crane crawlers

September 15 - Maxim Crane Works has acquired Essex Crane Rental's core fleet of crawler cranes, and added five new branches to its roster.

In addition to the new cranes, Maxim has invested in additional branch facilities in Alabaster, Alabama; Kansas City, Kansas; Arcola, Texas; Tampa, Florida; and Seattle, Washington.

"We are excited to continue our expansion into these markets as well as adding the former Essex core fleet to Maxim Crane's national fleet of equipment," said company ceo Bryan Carlisle. "These new locations enable Maxim to offer full service operations in areas that we have previously covered on a project basis."

Maxim, which recently completed a merger of AmQuip Crane Rental and its affiliated companies, now has 46 branches and over 2,500 cranes.

Frank Bardonaro, chief operating officer at Maxim, said that the company aims to continuously improve its fleet, geographic coverage and team in order to meet its customers' growing demands.

"The recent addition of AmQuip Crane, Crane Rental Corporation and now the former Essex core fleet provides Maxim Crane with an unprecedented geographic footprint, one-stop-shop capabilities, and the best talent available in the industry."
