Micco invests in Abu Dhabi

June 22 - Abu Dhabi Ports has signed an agreement with Al Mazroui International Cargo Company (Micco) to establish a new logistics business centre at the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad).

The facility will cater to Micco's temperature-controlled storage facilities, bulk storage through open yards, distribution services and a service centre for the company's trucking fleet, said Abu Dhabi Ports.

Micco has invested an initial AED35 million (USD9.5 million) into the first phase of the project, with further investments expected on the future developments of phase two and three.

The new 30,000 sq m facility is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2016 and will be fully operational by January 2017, said Abu Dhabi Ports.

Micco believes that this agreement will enable it to further contribute towards strengthening Abu Dhabi's export potential, as well as establish stronger logistics provisions to the GCC market.

Micco is a freight forwarding and logistics company, which provides complete project management and project freight contracting solutions for various industrial and infrastructure projects.
