Nurminen appoints directors

June 10 - Nurminen Logistics has appointed Harri Mustonen as sales director of its railway logistics business unit in Finland, and Maija Dietrich as the company's human resources director and member of the executive board.

Mustonen reports to Fedor Larionov, senior vice president of Nurminen's railway logistics business, while Dietrich will report to Olli Pohjanvirta, president and ceo of the company.

Recently Nurminen also handled the transport of the historical paddle steamer Lahtis from a hotel in Vaajakoski to the Järvilinna Art Centre in Laukaa.

The 148-year-old steamship was separated into two parts for transport, and the 33 m long hull of the ship was delivered to Laukaa on two specialised trailers.

The new owner of the ship, the Kauko Sorojonen Foundation, said that its objective is to repair the ship so that it may sail again. If this is successful, it will be the world's third oldest paddle steamer in operation, said Nurminen.
