January 22 - Panalpina World Transport has won the Project Forwarding Award at the British International Freight Association's (BIFA) Freight Service Awards 2014, in a year that saw continuing economic recovery in the UK.
Panalpina impressed the judges with the successful delivery of a unique project requiring a complex logistics solution, which involved the testing and evaluating of specialist towing equipment.
Other finalists shortlisted for the UK freight association's Project Forwarding Award, which was sponsored by Peter Lole & Co, were Arbour Shipping, Greenshields Cowie & Co, and Sound Moves (UK).
Winners of the Awards' remaining seven categories included: Samskip; Schenker; Unsworth Global Logistics; Allport Cargo Services; DSV Air & Sea; Freightex; and Estuary Logistics.
In the Individual category, the Young Freight Forwarder Award went to Jenifer Taylor of Santova Logistics.
