The UK’s port of Great Yarmouth, part of the Peel Ports group, has taken delivery of an LHM280 mobile harbour crane from Liebherr.

With a lifting capacity of 84 tonnes, the crane will allow the port’s customers to utilise its deepwater facility to handle larger volumes of bulk and unitised cargo, said Peel Ports.

According to Richard Goffin, port director, Great Yarmouth handles supplies for a variety of industries, including clients from the offshore and renewable energy sectors.

He added that the new crane allows the port to handle “greater amounts of cargo in a shorter amount of time, providing a more productive and flexible solution”.
