The I-4 Mobility Partners team - where Skanska is a partner - has been selected by the Florida Department of Transportation as the best value proposer for the I-4 highway project.
The public private partnership (PPP) contract includes design, build, finance, operations and maintenance responsibilities of the new highway.
The total amount of the contract for construction and design is expected to be approximately USD2.3 billion, of which Skanska's share is 40 percent.
Technip has entered into binding agreement for the divestment of a majority stake of at least 51 percent and up to 75 percent in Seamec Limited to HAL Offshore Limited in India. The deal is valued at between EUR20 million (51 percent) and EUR29 million (75 percent).
According to a Technip statement, the move will enable it to concentrate on its core competencies involving deepest subsea complex, deepwater oil and gas developments. See more here.
Wood Group GTS and Apex Bethel Energy Center have signed a three-year USD12 million operations and maintenance agreement for the Bethel Energy Center. Wood Group GTS will be responsible for care, custody and control of the facility when it begins commercial operation in 2017. Read more here.
China's Shenhua Ningmei Coal Group has placed a follow-up order with Siemens Energy for four CO2 compressor trains for a coal liquefaction plant. The compressor trains are destined for a coal liquefaction plant in Ningxia Province, which lies in the northwestern part of the People's Republic of China. Siemens will deliver to this plant what is currently its largest CO2 compressor. The compressor trains are scheduled for delivery in the summer of 2015. Find out more here.
Ferus Natural Gas Fuels - a North American leader in LNG and CNG fueling solutions - has completed the purchase of Encana Corporation's 50 percent interest in the Elmworth, Alberta liquefied natural gas ("LNG") production facility. See more details here.
Alstom has been awarded a EUR30 million contract by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) to supply components and services for the 2x660 MW Banharpalli Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) located in Jharsaguda, Orissa, India.
Alstom will co-operate with BHEL in designing the boilers and supply identified pressure parts of the 660 MW supercritical boilers, along with windboxes. It will also assist BHEL with technical advisors during the erection and commissioning of the units. Find more information here.
Sharp Corporation has signed an agreement with Serm Sang Palang Ngan of Thailand to construct a 52 MW large-scale solar power generation plant in that country. Construction will begin in January, with operations scheduled to start by the end of 2014. See more here.
Foster Wheeler announced that a subsidiary of its Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract for basic engineering for the Squaw Gulch ADR2 project, a new adsorption, desorption and recovery (ADR) facility at AngloGold Ashanti (Colorado) Corp.'s Cripple Creek and Victor Gold Mining Company's site in Teller, Colorado, USA. Foster Wheeler has also been awarded a contract for the design and supply of a carbon monoxide incinerator package for a residue fluidized catalytic cracker in Vietnam. The contract was awarded by JGC Corporation (UK) Ltd, which is acting on behalf of the engineering, procurement and construction consortium for the US$9 billion Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical complex to be constructed in the Nghi Son Economic Zone, Thanh Hoa Province, Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Hungarian fertilizer manufacturer Nitrogénmüvek Zrt. is extending its cooperation with plant engineering specialist ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions. A granulation plant with a capacity of 1,550 tons per day of ammonium nitrate (AN) or 1,960 tons per day of calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) is to start operation in Pétfürdö, roughly 100 kilometers south west of Budapest, in fall 2016. ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions will handle engineering and procurement of the process plant. The customer will carry out installation on site. See more here.
Gazprom Neft's Moscow Refinery is to build a biological waste treatment plant. A membrane biological reactor, unique in the Russian oil refining industry, will remove 99 percent of pollutants from wastewater and reduce the site's water consumption by a factor of 2.5, says Gazprom Neft. The biological wastewater treatment plant will form part of a single facility together with the underground mechanical wastewater treatment plant commissioned in 2012. Find out more here.
