Steder goes ro-ro

November 24 - Steder Group has transported a Hitachi EX1200 excavator from the customer's quay in the Netherlands to a terminal in Belgium for shipment by ro-ro vessel to South America.

The excavator, which weighed 110 tonnes and had the dimensions 9.62 m x 5.84 m x 4.75 m, was delivered via inland waterway from the Netherlands to Belgium, before being loaded on board a ro-ro vessel for shipment.

Steder says that transportation by river is the most economical way of moving large components and machines to Belgian ports.

Steder is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) and Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) network for the Netherlands.
