Volga-Dnepr takes Polet duo

October 19 - Volga-Dnepr Group has signed a finance lease agreement with Sberbank Leasing to acquire two AN-124-100 Ruslan freighter aircraft, previously operated by Polet Airlines.

"The AN-124-100 aircraft acquisition goes in line with the Group Strategy 2020, which provides for the fleet extension with Russian and foreign-made aircraft," said Volga-Dnepr Group senior vice president Sergey Shklyanik.

HLPFI reported in April 2015 that Russia's federal air transport agency Rosaviatsiya had cancelled Polet's air operator's certificate (AOC), following an ongoing dispute between the troubled airline and Moscow Arbitration Court, which saw two of its AN-124 aricraft grounded.
