February 3 - Flensborg and Associates, a Munich-based sales and consulting firm, has announced the 17th BreakBulk BUSINESSrun, which will take place in Shanghai on March 12, 2014.

The BUSINESSrun combines athletics and networking for professionals in the heavy lift and breakbulk industries, with visitors and exhibitors from the Breakbulk China Conference and Exhibition participating.

Approximately 300 runners have taken part in previous BreakBulk runs in Antwerp, Houston, Singapore, New Orleans and Munich.

The BUSINESSrun event circuit is the brainchild of coordinators Anders and Katrin Flensborg, who lead Flensborg and Associates. A unique and successful concept, this international event circuit combines charitable giving with networking opportunities and sports for professionals in the transportation and maritime industries.

The upcoming 17th BUSINESSrun in Shanghai will kick off at 07:50 on March 12. The event offers a choice of two routes: 4 km for less ambitious runners and a 8 km for more athletic participants, with the start and finish point at the Kerry Hotel Pudong.

Sponsors of the event include Clipper Projects, Port of Antwerp, Ceres Barge Line, BNSF Logistics, Geodis Wilson, Port of San Fransisco, Texas Terminals, Zuidnatie Breakbulk NV, Port of Houston, CSX and the Journal of Commerce.

Participation fee is USD35, which will be donated entirely to the charity organisation HandsOn Shanghai.
