June 4 - Barge Master mobilised its BM-T700 motion compensation platform to install a 151-tonne bridge aboard Shell's Malampaya production platform in the Philippines.

Boskalis contracted Barge Master to install the 42.5 m x 3.5 m x 3.5 m bridge, which connected the depletion compression platform to an existing gas producing shallow water platform in the Malampaya field.

The bridge was loaded onto the Barge Master platform and sailed out to the project location. Once on site, the bridge was stabilised by the Barge Master before being lifted into position.

Barge Master states that the BM-T700 modular motion compensation platform has a payload capacity of 700 tonnes, and accommodates a crane with a capacity of 160 tonnes at a 12 m radius. The platform compensates for waves up to a height of 2.5 m.
