February 22 - Blue Water Shipping has coordinated that transport of a 335 m long bridge through the centre of Copenhagen.

Destined for delivery to the Panum Institute in the Danish capital, the bridge arrived in Denmark in six sections from Poland, with the longest section measuring 35 m long by 3 m wide and weighing over 45 tonnes.

Due to the site location and the narrow roads and heavy traffic en route, the transport required thorough planning, explained Blue Water. The 16 sections were installed at night.

"Initially, we planned the transport in detail together with Bladt Industries, which was in charge of constructing and installing the bridge. We conducted a thorough analysis of the two site entrances and possible obstacles that might interfere with the transport," said Blue Water project manager Kenneth Ruby.
