March 3 - Two large boilers, manufactured by Sofinter Group subsidiary Macchi, have been loaded on BigLift Shipping'ss vessel Happy Dynamic at the Port of Venice's Multiservice terminal for delivery to Kuwait.

The industrial boilers, weighing over 520 tonnes each and measuring 20 m x 14 m x 12 m, will form part of a power generation project in Kuwait, which is scheduled for completion in 2016.

The units were delivered to the port on SPMTs and loaded on board the heavy lift vessel with the help of specialised transport company Fagioli. The ocean shipment to the Middle East was organised by San Marco Shipping

In December 2015, Macchi's parent company Sofinter opened a production plant in Porto Marghera, where the Port of Venice says roads and quays are specifically designed for the loading of heavy and out-of-gauge project cargoes.

The proximity of the manufacturing facility to the quay allowed Fagioli to use its Porto Marghera warehouses for the storage and preparation of the boilers before shipment, explained the Port of Venice.
