August 10 - European abnormal and heavy haulage company Van der Vlist has celebrated 10 years of operation in the UK with the ground-breaking for a new location at Burma Drive, Hull, the new location of Van der Vlist UK from 2012.

Founded in 1930, the Van der Vlist Group has developed into one of Europe's market leaders within the abnormal and heavy haulage industry and opened its UK operations in July, 2001. Servicing the UK customer base and facilitating movements between the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe, Van der Vlist UK has grown into one of the leading providers of international heavy haulage services in the UK.

This major investment allows the company to move to a purpose-built facility, highlighting the confidence that the Van der Vlist Transport Group has in the UK. The location enjoys a close connection to the A63 and the Port of Hull.

Van der Vlist UK is backed by a fleet of over 200 trucks and 200 trailers as well as various modular axles and specialist trailers.
