March 23 - Austrian crane rental and specialised transportation company Telekrane Engl has taken delivery of a new Grove GMK3060 all-terrain crane.

The three-axle 60-tonne capacity crane features Grove's Megatrak suspension, a Mercedes-Benz engine, and ZF transmission - which the manufacturer says offers excellent mobility, both on and off road in Austria's alpine terrain.

Telekrane Engl has also purchased a new heavy-duty jib for the GMK3060 model, which allows it to operate when both the main boom and jib are positioned at 0 degrees.

"We mostly operate in confined spaces or in high-alpine terrain, so we needed a compact crane that offered good load charts and excellent off-road manoeuvrability," said Telekrane Engl director Wolfgang Engl.

The new crane also features a six-section boom with Manitowoc's boom configuration mode, as well as the manufacturer's new crane control system.

Meanwhile in the UK, Marsh Plant Hire has taken delivery of the last Grove GMK3055 all-terrain crane to be sold in the country.

The GMK3055, which has now been replaced in the Grove all-terrain crane line by the 60-tonne capacity GMK3060, is scheduled for work on a number of jobs across the UK, including construction and petrochemical projects.

The three-axle crane has a capacity of 55 tonne and features a 43 m main boom, in addition to a 8.7 m to 15 m bifold swing-away jib.
