July 21 - Robert Wynn and Sons has delivered two 235 tonne calendres (heat exchangers) to the French port of Dielette using the company's heavy lift barge, Terra Marique under contract to SDV Industrial Projects.

The calendres, which were loaded at the Port of Cherbourg and shipped overnight to Dielette (seen below), were destined for the Flamanville nuclear power station some two kilometres from the port. Each calendre was 6.3 m in height, 21.3m in length with a diameter of 7.3 m.

This was a repeat visit for Terra Marique to the Port of Dielette, as the vessel visited in April 2009 and was loaded with a 222 tonne transformer destined for Cherbourg.

The latest shipment comes after a busy few months for Terra Marique which has recently completed multiple movements from Rotterdam to Thamesport for the Britned project - a subsea electricity link between Great Britain and The Netherlands - carrying loads with a collective weight of 1400 tonnes.

Operations director Chris Johnson commented that Terra Marique's ability to self manoeuvre and offload while grounded, was on show in Dielette with a safe and secure offloading operation within a challenging tidal window.
