April 30 - Ship's agency Intermare SpA, is set to represent all the services operated by Intermarine's flagship line, Industrial Maritime Carriers, in the Italian market.

Intermare's appointment represents a further expansion of Intermarine in the European trade with the line having commenced a regular project/heavy lift service from Europe to the Atlantic coast of South America and opened offices in Hamburg and Zeist in Holland earlier this year.

"We are excited about the strength that Intermare brings to the Intermarine group, and look forward to extending our services into the Mediterranean," commented Tjeerd Veldhuizen, Intermarine's managing director for the European Service based in Holland.

Presently the company provides two sailings monthly from North Europe to primarily Brazil and Argentina.

Thomas Cord, managing director of Industrial Maritime Chartering in Hamburg, added, "In addition to our direct services from Italy, Intermare's involvement within the project cargo market in Italy will supplement the worldwide services of Intermarine."

Intermarine also manages extensive services between North and South America as well as providing services to, from and within Asia.
