September 25 - Netherlands headquartered Jumbo has launched its first new K3000 class vessel - named Jumbo Kinetic - at the Brodosplit shipyard, located in Split, Croatia.

Members of the Jumbo management team and personnel of the Brodosplit shipyard witnessed the landmark occasion.

Once operational, the new K-class will have a large and unobstructed hold and flush decks. The vessel is certified 1A Finnish Swedish Ice Class for operations in Arctic areas. Work will continue on Jumbo Kinetic in Croatia before she sets sail for Huisman's shipyard in China, where she will be fitted with dual 1,500 tonne mast cranes. The vessel will be capable of lifting up to 3,000 tonnes at an outreach of 20 m.

A second sister ship is also under construction at the Brodosplit shipyard. Jumbo says "the new vessels will set new standards in the maritime heavy lift sector".
