July 4 - Bin Quraya Est has taken delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile crane from the Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH plant. The 500-tonne crane is now the largest unit in the 250-strong crane fleet of the Saudi Arabian company, writes Jamie May.

With more than 300 units sold, the LTM 1500-8.1 combines high lifting capacity and significant mobility both on roads and construction sites, claims Liebherr.

With an axle weight of 12 tonnes and an overall weight of 96 tonnes, it can travel complete with all outriggers and a four-part telescopic boom, 50 m long, at up to 80 km/h on the road. The modular design of the telescopic boom means that it can be extended to 84 m, which gives the operator considerable flexibility.

Bin Quraya Est. is a Saudi Arabian company with a workforce of over 1,600 people. Its area of work includes general construction and projects involving the petrochemical sector, for which the LTM 1500-8.1 will be useful in maintenance tasks in petrochemical plants.

The crane was delivered to Awad bin Ali bin Mohammed Quraya, the owner of Bin Quraya Est.
