July 11 - Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, part of the ALL Family of Companies, has utilised a Link-Belt HTC 86100-XL truck crane to lift and load a decommissioned McDonell Douglas F-4C Phantom fighter jet onto a flatbed truck, for transportation to the Gene

At Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the 26,000-lbs (11.8-tonne) plane was lifted with the 100-ton (90.7-tonne) capacity crane and loaded onto Dawes Specialized Transport's 53 ft (16.2 m) Manac extendable trailer.

The plane was then transported to Milwaukee, manoeuvring the oversized cargo through a tunnel with 18 ft (5.4 m) of high space, 16.5 ft (5 m) of which was occupied by the jet.

Upon arrival at the General Mitchell International Airport, the Link-Belt HTC 86100-XL crane lifted the jet off the trailer and set it onto its pedestal, where it will stand as a memorial for veterans.
