June 8 - Norway-based Westshore Shipbrokers has nominated German Cargo Services (GCS) as its commercial agent in Germany and the neighbouring countries.

GCS, which is a joint venture between Peter W. Lampke (PWL) and member of the Ludwig Freytag group, Tiefbau Gesellschaft Unterweser (TAGU), says that the two companies will focus their cooperation particularly on the offshore wind industry.

The Bremen-based ships agency is also the general agents for Varamar/White Whale Shipping, which operates a fleet of more than 15 modern multipurpose vessels with lifting capacities of up to 400 tonnes, offering a semi-liner service to and from Baltic, North Continent, Black Sea and Mediterranean to Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, Far East, West Africa, as well as the Americas.

Independent of the liner activities of PWL, GCS offers solutions for steel, pipes, breakbulk, projects, ro-ro, wind energy and heavy lift transport.
