June 7 - Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics' Abnormal Load Services (WWL ALS) has transported four wind turbine tower sections and three wind turbine blades from the Port of Avonmouth in Bristol to Newport in Wales UK.

As road transport across the Severn Bridge was not a suitable option, WWL ALS chartered Scotline's coaster vessel Scot Ranger and arranged welders for the sea fastening operations.

The tower sections ranged in weight from 30 tonnes to 68 tonnes, with the longest section measuring 21.66 m, while the blades weighed 13.7 tonnes each and measured 49.1 m x 2.97 m x 3.27 m.

WWL ALS organised stevedores and shore cranes to load and discharge the cargoes at the respective ports.
