November 11 - The news that Lloyd's List DCN has scheduled a breakbulk and project cargo conference between May 16 - 17th in Perth, leaves us wondering just how many of these events this industry can sustain.

Informa Australia which is behind the conference says that it will bring together engineering and construction experts, transport and logistics companies, shipping, ports, mining and resources, suppliers and freight forwarders to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the heavy lift supply chain.

The organisers advise that the topics to be discussed will include an economic overview of where project cargo is needed; the role of the supply chain in supporting the mining and resources industry; logistics challenges for the engineering sector; what improvements are necessary to secure a successful future for the breakbulk shipping sector; port perspectives on meeting the growing needs of the resources sector, among others.
