ALE's research and development team designed and fabricated new towers for its Mega Jack in Breda, the Netherlands. The Mega Jack now features 16 towers, each with a lifting capacity of 5,200 tonnes.

The enhanced system, when combined with the other jacking systems in ALE's fleet, including the Mega Jack 800 and the Mega Jack 300, which is due to be launched in March 2018, brings ALE's total jacking capacity to 100,000 tonnes.

"We are always looking at developing new solutions to upcoming challenges and work closely with our clients to find out how we can help them. We have seen an increase in demand for the Mega Jack and, as such, we decided to build additional towers to satisfy three projects that are taking place at a similar time," explained ALE technical director Ronald Hoefmans.

The enhanced Mega Jack towers will be utilised for the first time in Mexico during March, while other existing towers are operational on other projects in both Australia and the UAE.
