Bolloré Transport & Logistics has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CLS Logistics that outlines plans to establish a joint venture in Ethiopia.

Bolloré and CLS will support Ethiopia’s textiles, coffee and infrastructure sectors. The companies will also provide supply chain services for industrial projects.

As part of the agreement, the joint venture plans to invest EUR15 million (USD16.95 million) in a modern logistics hub. The project involves the construction of a 12,000 sq m warehouse.

According to Bolloré, with its experience in port concessions and dry ports in other African countries, the company also intends to support Ethiopian authorities in the modernisation and development of its dry ports.

Bolloré said it will particularly focus on the port of Modjo in order to position it as one of the main logistics hubs in East Africa.

CLS Logistics has been Bolloré’s partner in Ethiopia for more than 11 years.
