Crane Worldwide opens in Guyana

Crane Worldwide Logistics has opened an office in Guyana as it aims to capitalise on the country’s growing energy and oil and gas sectors.

Located in Georgetown, the office will offer a full suite of supply chain services including airfreight, ocean freight, project cargo, Customs brokerage and warehousing, in addition to services such as storage, packing and distribution.

Offshore drilling production in Guyana is projected to double by 2020. In May, ExxonMobil said that it achieved funding for the Liza Phase 2 development offshore Guyana after it received government and regulatory approvals.

Liza Phase 2 will produce up to 220,000 barrels of oil per day and will allow the company to further capitalise on the significant development potential of the Stabroek Block. ExxonMobil has made thirteen oil discoveries in the Stabroek Block in recent years.

Crane Worldwide’s Guyana operation will be led by managing director, Darren Etherington. He joins the company with over 25 years of logistics experience including stints in both the Middle East and the Caribbean.
