GAC shuffles American management

October 21 - GAC North America - Logistics has appointed Paul Fardy as managing director to succeed Claus Schensema, who has been named director, general freight.

Fardy, who is based in Houston, will oversee the development of GAC's integrated logistics services throughout North America. He previously served as management systems director at GAC Group's corporate headquarters in Dubai, and has over 25 years of experience in the industry.

Schensema, who has held a number of management roles at GAC including 12 years as managing director of the company's Chinese operation, will focus on the general freight business in North America in his new role.

GAC's group vice president for the Americas, Lars Heisselberg, said that the recent appointments follow the expansion of the company's network in the USA, with the opening of four new offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit and Los Angeles in 2015.
