Lombard takes over as ceo at Geodis

October 24 - SNCF Geodis, the department of the French rail company responsible for freight transportation and logistics, has named Marie-Christine Lombard as chief executive officer of Geodis, effective from today (October 24, 2012).

She was previously chairman and ceo of express logistics company TNT, from which she resigned unexpectedly last month stating she wished to follow new business interests.

Jean-Louis Demeulenaere, the current ceo of Geodis, is leaving the company to pursue new projects.

SNCF chairman Guillaume Pepy commented: "The arrival of Marie-Christine Lombard at Geodis will strengthen the teams and ready Geodis for a new phase of profitable growth."
