The processing platform and utility living quarter topsides had a combined weight of 44,000 tonnes and were lifted using Pioneering Spirit’s single lift technology.

According to Equinor, it took three days to lift the last four pieces of the project; the final flare stack and the bridge that links the processing platform to the drilling platform were lifted into place by Heerema Marine Contractors’ (HMC) heavy lift vessel Thialf during the same period.

At 26,000 tonnes, the processing platform installation was the heaviest single lift ever performed offshore, said Allseas.
