August 1 - Nigerian project cargo forwarder Teximarco International has made two significant staff appointments.

Olanrewaju Shittu has joined the forwarder as a senior manager in the operations department from Intercare Shipping while Olofintolu Kibir Jinad has been appointed as a airfreight manager to oversee airfreight operations. He was formerly at Panalpina World Transport.

Lagos-based Teximarco provides professional project services to the construction, power, oil and gas, mining and civil engineering industries.

"Heavy and out of gauge cargo needs particular attention to detail, so having the imagination to prepare accordingly is the key to success. Whether carrying the material for the reconstruction of the Oakland Bay Bridge in California or managing the distribution of educational material in Senegal, our project teams take command of situations, on site or in our controlling office," says the company.

High and heavy activity provided by the company includes route planning, heavy lift and OOG, surveys, local knowledge, chartering, cargo assembly and packing and inventory control.
