Mammoet has transported a 175-tonne steel building frame as part of the Pier 70 revitalisation project in San Francisco, USA.

The building frame has been moved into temporary storage while the pier undergoes renovation works.

The frame was jacked-up about 18 cm before being rolled 37 m using Holland dollies. 16 dollies were used to move the structure and six dollies were required for bracing. Two excavators supplied by Silverado Contractors provided traction for the roll out.

Once the pier renovations are complete, the frame will be rolled into position, where it will become a decorative centrepiece for the new neighbourhood.
