Dimerco has delivered 33 tons (30 tonnes) of valves for an aviation fuel pipeline that will connect with the under-construction Beijing Daxing International Airport.

The components were transported from Milan, Italy to Zhengzhou, China by rail. The parts were delivered to three separate destinations along the route of the pipeline.

According to Dimerco, delivery via rail saved the customer nearly three weeks transit time in comparison to the ocean shipments previously handled by Dimerco.

Dimerco ceo Edward Lin said: “We make sure to keep abreast of latest trends and regulations, so that we can provide optimised, efficient and cost-effective solutions for our customers, based on their specific requirements. In this case, we recognised that a cross-border freight train would provide the fastest route to the destination.”

The company’s dedicated cross-border train freight (CBTF) team monitored and analysed the performance and freight capacity of each route prior to the move.

Team leader of CBTF, Lexi Zhang, added: “We were able to take the initiative to adjust the documentation, monitor onsite loading and personally oversee Customs clearance while communicating closely with the customer and our strategic partners to ensure everything went to plan.”
