Sarens has loaded out a 580-tonne pile template in Wallsend, UK on behalf of Van Oord.

Van Oord is responsible for installing 102 three-legged jacket foundations for Scottish Power Renewables (part of the Iberdrola Group), which is building the East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm in the North Sea.

To transport the offshore structure, which had a diameter of 38 m, Sarens utilised link spans measuring 21 m in length.

While most of the equipment used for the load-out, including SPMTs and mobile cranes, arrived at the project site from the UK, the link spans were delivered from the Netherlands.

During the load-out operation, Sarens had to line up the pile template with the link span design before driving the structure on to a barge for onward transportation.
