Lone loads in Shanghai

SAL Heavy Lift has transported 11 Damen flat top pontoons from China to the Netherlands.

The pontoons were loaded onboard SAL's heavy lift vessel Lone, in Shanghai.

Two of the Stan pontoons have already been sold to Amsterdam-based Maja Stevedores, while the remaining nine units are built-for-stock and available to Damen's clients for direct delivery.

"We have identified that there is a demand for pontoons in Europe," said Damen product director pontoons and barges, Frank Koppelaar. "Bringing them here means we have them ready for the fastest possible delivery when our clients need them. Additionally, shipping multiple units on a heavy lift vessel is very cost efficient, which means we are able to offer our clients a competitive price per unit."

SAL Heavy Lift is a member to the Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) network in Germany.
