Austal goes with the wind

October 24 - Australia-based shipbuilder Austal has secured contracts to design and construct three 27-metre catamaran wind farm support vessels.

They will be used by UK-based Turbine Transfers to support wind turbine installation and maintenance activities in European waters.

Able to transport 12 people and 100 tonnes of supplies, Austal will build the three Wind Express 27 catamarans at its shipyard in the Philippines over a period of some nine months starting in March 2013.
