Cranes on route with Altius

October 8 - The Projects Division of Altius, has been responsible for transporting four ship-to-shore cranes from Amsterdam to Vigo and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Using ALE and Wagenborg Towage as sub-contractors, Altius has been responsible for the management of the reinforcement of the cranes' structure for the ocean leg - which is being undertaken by a towed barge; load-out operations in Amsterdam from quay to barge via two SPMTs transport platforms; as well as unloading in Vigo and Tenerife.


Each of the super Post-Panamax cranes are 72 m in length; 27 m in width; 112 m in height with their booms raised and weigh 1,326 tonnes.
