Jack-Up Barge installs first German offshore wind turbine

July 16 - Jack-Up Barge BV, a leading supplier of jack-up services for the oil and gas, energy and wind turbines, as well as heavy civil construction markets, has recently taken delivery of two newbuild jack-up barges - JB-114 and JB-115 from Indonesia.

Transported to the Netherlands on a Dockwise heavy lift vessel, one of the barges recently mobilsed to its first project working offshore installing wind turbines on the German Alpha Ventus field.

Following the loading of tower, turbine and rotor blades, the JB-114 was towed from Eemshaven to the offshore site, where the first wind turbine was installed.
