Jumbo serves subsea diners

August 6 - GAC Sweden has awarded Jumbo a contract for the transportation and installation of an underwater restaurant in the Maldives.

The restaurant consists of an acrylic dome on a steel structure, weighing 410 tonnes, which will be assembled in New Zealand before being shipped to Huravalhi Island by Jumbo.

On arrival in the Maldives, Jumbo will moor its vessel alongside a shallow coral reef where the restaurant will be lowered onto pre-installed concrete piles at a depth of about 10 m.
