Lührs moves Enak into Hamburg

Lührs Schifffahrt has positioned its 600-ton (544.3-tonne) capacity floating crane, Enak, at the port of Hamburg.

The crane measures 55 m long and 25 m wide, and was formerly stationed in Bremerhaven.

Lührs Schifffahrt, which acquired Enak from Bugsier Reederei, has positioned the heavy lift crane in the Ellerholz docks.

"Stationing Enak in Hamburg gives shippers, project forwarders and heavy lift shipping companies fresh opportunities to exploit the port of Hamburg's strengths as a project shipment transhipment hub," said Axel Mattern, joint ceo of Port of Hamburg Marketing.

The machine will join the two floating cranes HHLA III and HHLA IV, which feature lifting capacities of 100 tons (90.7 tonnes) and 200 tons (181.4 tonnes) respectively, at the port.
