Sonora delivers on schedule

August 12 - Sonora has transported a consignment of building materials, weighing a total of 6,050 tonnes, from Latvia to Sweden.

The cargo, which included external and internal walls, beams and frames, was loaded onboard a vessel in Latvia and shipped to the Swedish port of Karlstad, before being delivered by road to the factory. The transportation project will continue into October.

"The biggest challenge of this project was to prepare and follow the accurate and perfectly planned schedule for the goods to be delivered from the terminal to the factory on an urgent basis," said agent network manager, Madara Melne. "Approximately 500 tonnes must reach the final destination every week and falling behind schedule could result in penalties."

Sonora is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Latvia.
